Cinematic Production

Statement of intent

Experiment into developing a cinematic games environment using photorealistic and modular assets, fully rendered and lit. I plan to blockout the scene with basic lighting and textures and work towards the definitive version with technical and advance camera work to allow the scene to be fully presented in a professional manner. As well as some particle effects to change the theme of my scene for example rain, thunder, and snow. I will take inspiration from other games as well as my research. Audio will be important to the cinematic scene to make the environment seem real and improve the overall quality of the scene.

I was influenced by games like Assassin's creed origins as the level of detail and environmental design is phenomenal and I want to produce that level of quality in a cinematic sequence for this project. My first thoughts would be to create and develop a blockout to get a feel for the layout of the scene and plan using Trello with dates to help with managing time for the project making sure I am on time with the project timeline. This will help me keep on track and give me an idea if I can complete the project in time.

I plan to use unreal engine for most of this process developing my skills through experimenting and trying new techniques and building upon them. I plan to use a lot of media to find the solutions for any problems I come with in software and log them in my research. I plan to develop the project in sections to give me the general idea of how long each section should take. This gives me the options to do any optional edits if I am ahead of schedule. Using the techniques, I learn from this project will advance my knowledge and skills in developing 3D environments to stun and impress viewers.

I will evaluate my work thorough peer-to-peer feedback. This will give me insight and improve my overall work. The positive feedback will let me know what I had done right and does my project appeal to them as well as negative feedback will allow me to improve and find errors that may have been made during production. Also, I can upload my work onto my YouTube channel and see the overall like to dislike ratio as well as feedback from a range of people. This will be helpful as I could improve things I would have never noticed and fix or change.
